WELLINGTON, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Nature has its way of doing magic in mushrooms. With the conical shape, unique and distinctive colour, the sky blue mushroom does look like something out of a fairy tale.
As a sort of native fungi to New Zealand, the mushroom, bearing the scientific name Entoloma hochstetteri, is also printed on the reverse of the New Zealand 50 dollar banknote.
The real magic fungus can be found on both islands of New Zealand. The fruiting body of the sky blue mushroom is usually found among moss, ferns or fallen leaves and the cap grows up to around 2 to 5 cm in diameter.
